How We Ship Live Fish

Live fish ship Monday through Wednesday via UPS. Orders must be received at least 3 business days before the applicable shipping date so there is time for quarantine, observation, preparation, and scheduling.

We review the fish, destination, weather, and shipping conditions before release. Extreme temperatures, storms, or meaningful carrier disruptions can require a safer ship date.

Live fish are packed to reduce movement and protect water temperature during transit. Packaging choices can vary with fish size, species, season, destination, and expected conditions.

Customers should monitor tracking and arrange for the package to be received promptly. The aquarium should already be stable and ready before the box arrives.

Inspect the shipment immediately. If a fish is DOA, take a clear photo immediately upon arrival and contact Discus Direct™ right away. Then follow the current acclimation guidance for the fish you purchased.
